XMission is again sponsoring the Utah Open Source Conference (UTOSC), at the Redwood campus of Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). The theme is “HOWTO” this year. The UTOSC site explains,

The idea is that within the technology, education, community and business tracks, there will be plenty to talk about.

HOWTOs will help others get started
HOWTOs will help families use open source together
HOWTOs will provide a stepping stone along the road to technology mastery
HOWTOs will let those that are masters get together and make the products better.

Free Electronics Recycling at all R.C. Willey locations

R.C. Willey is offering free electronics recycling on August 7, 8, and 9 at all locations along the Wasatch Front from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Recycling for this event is provided by Guaranteed Recycling Experts (GRX), a genuine recycler that returns 100% of the materials to the manufacturing process. They don’t export, landfill, or incinerate any part of the items they collect. XMission has worked with GRX on past events in Salt Lake City.

Utah Arts Fest this Weekend

XMission has proudly sponsored the Utah Arts Festival for more than a decade. In addition to supplying funds for the “Sponsor Patio,” XMission provides wireless services to the festival grounds, and hosts the Utah Arts Festival website. We have even worked occasionally with exhibiting, tech-oriented artists. The festival is taking place this weekend (June 26-29) at Library Square. If you see any XMission staff out and about, please stop us and say “hi.”
